I've just made a commitment to not only reading every day but writing in a journal as well. I truly believe that it's the intellectual equivalent of physical exercise.

I start my day reading. The first 30 minutes after I wake up, I always read while having my coffee. And then I try to include at least another 30-60 minutes of reading in bits and pieces throughout the day, as per my schedule and if time permits. I always feel so recharged and relaxed and inspired to start my day.

I noticed I’m focused and less stressed. I feel great when I get lost in a book. Sometimes a paragraph is so beautiful that I have to read it out loud. That’s the best. I actually don’t enjoy a television taking the visualization aspect away from my mind. Even when a book “slows down” I become engaged and ironically these sections become few and far in between.

An hour of power every day: 30 minutes of reading, 15 minutes of writing (journal etc), 15 minute walk to think (exercise and consolidate in your memory what you just read, lessons learned).
