I worked at Stanford University in finance. The most inefficient, ungoverned and archaic place I have ever worked.

I remember when college were great places of freedom and exchange of thought and viewpoints instead of the totalitarian colleges we see today where no viewpoint differences are allowed. I enjoyed hearing all types of professors and lecturers on my campus even the ones I disagreed with. All debates and lectures helped me refine my own philosophy.

We are sending our child to "Austin University" this Fall. Yes, no matter what we try everyone calls it University of Austin or Austin University and we now just go with that. It is just difficult to say U-A-T-X and trying to describe what that means. And Bill Ackman is right, we must position ourselves to be able to take federal funding for student financial aid and research.
