  You can.get a house anywhere for that money and get more space. Those rents are outrageous.

  Thank you for posting. I enjoy seeing this &quot;process&quot; of trying to find a suitable apartment. It seems quite depressing though with the prices vs what you get. I&apos;m from southeastern Viriginia so, this is why I have hard time with the cost. These prices are more than triple of what my mortgage is. I still love to visit NYC (only been twice &amp; itching to get back). All the energy there, good people, food, &amp; things to do. <br>I hope you &amp; your wife can find something affordable &amp; nice. 👍🙏

  For 2 BR/bath, doorman, garage, newly renovated or constructed in the city - we couldn&apos;t find anything under $12k/month.

  I think Apartment 4 was the best out of all 5 units. I don&apos;t know, if I&apos;m spending more than $3000 in rent in an apartment, the unit better have an in-unit washer and dryer.

  All those closets &amp; no washer &amp; dryer in any of them, bummer. The kitchens were kind of disappointing too for that price. &nbsp;Wishing you better luck in the next ones.👍

  I hate to be that person, but bring lighting with you. Some of the images are really dark. Good luck with your hunt from someone who experienced it in 1990. Ended up in a rent stabilized one bedroom apt in Kew Gardens paying like $400 a month. The apt was big, but it needed work that never got done or done right.

  where did you find these/what website did you look on? also, how long did it take from viewing to move in? any other tips? my hb and I are planning our move to nyc in a couple of months from out of state, so any tips are appreciated!!

  Yea, I&apos;m never Moving to NYC These prices are super crazy!!! I live in a house for 2,150 bigger then all these apartments put together lol
