In 2003, we had a sunset dinner up in the restaurant at the top; fabulous view, decent, over-priced food, if I recall. We had been on our way to glorious Botswana and Namibia to do a self-drive safari, Angolan border to Capetown; highly recommended.<br><br>As the sun set over the ocean, I recall saying to my GF, “This entire city is a fukking fantasy. One day, it’s all going to be swallowed by sand.” <br><br>Dubai has peaked. The sand is now coming.
