  Dropping the "2" was definitely a right call. Make the franchise simple, easier to remember, less clunky to call. I'd say, despite of some misses here and there, Overwatch is currently in the best state than it's ever been. I'm loving the frequent updates, collabs and lore drops. Had they done it in 2019, Overwatch would have been a huge IP and a big esport title by now.

  I’m not gonna deny overwatch is being held in a better light these days, but I don’t think the talent is there with the storytelling and character designs like og overwatch. I mean my favorite character designs/backgrounds from the overwatch 2 launch are Queen and ram who were designed prior to the new team. I’m sure there’s some decent little comics they pump out, but even the new doom vs vendetta cinematic just didn’t hit like more than half the og cinematics. I know most of those writers/designers/creative leads are gone now and I just don’t feel like the universe is as magical/poetic anymore, but I’m not gonna say it’s bad. Just not inspiring like it used to be, like that Pixar magic.

  Coming from a casual, mid-ranked player (diamond) that returned to Overwatch back in February, I think the game is in a great state. While balancing is always a topic of debate, the game feels really fun to play and it’s only getting better

  The weekly quest of playing games queued for all roles is the only reason I would play 5v5 now. I enjoy 6v6 so much and the freedom of changing roles when im not performing well as one. <br><br>I think if they changed that quest to &quot;Play x games queued for all roles/open queue.&quot; The player numbers for 6v6 would be much much bugger because there are people who don&apos;t play the game much because of real life and they would rather finish the battle pass as quick as possible during the time they&apos;re playing.

  As a casual player and someone who doesn’t get paid to make content, I personally don’t care about them swapping back to overwatch instead of overwatch 2 because to me it feels like cheap brownie points and nobody brings up that we’re still playing overwatch 2 we still have 5V5. We still have season 9 and we have perks that is what overwatch 2 is

  OW2 rubbed me the wrong way. I remember they required a phone number to play. It was A LOT like OW, just with a 2 slapped on and everyone felt cheated. I still played for a solid 2 months with friends then we abandoned the game. I took years off and came back in March 2026 and the new perks &amp; ability reworks are a literal game changer. I had to get familiar with like 10 new characters &amp; they&apos;ve added Sierra, Shion, &amp; DMon since I got back with Doctrine around the corner. I&apos;m very pleased with the game

  I loved some parts of early Overwatch, but right now it&apos;s the best it&apos;s ever been. I have mixed feelings on how 6v6 is right now and how chaotic it is, though. But, overall this year has been fantastic and I love all the MANY new heroes and how they regularly lore dump. <br>However, I think the battle pass and greedy cash shop is just awful. The monetization is just so bad that I (someone who used to regularly buy skins) just had to stop with that new tier of Ultra skins that are 40+ and get close to a hundred in a pack. I&apos;ve decided I have enough and I&apos;d really rather just spend my money anywhere else now.

  As a projectile dps player (mid diamond) I&apos;m getting really tired of support power creep more than anything. Roadhog and mauga grind me gears but its at least a tank oppressing me.. <br><br>Supports have lots of mobility, immorts, good dueling potential, and burst healing. The burst healing is really getting me lately like everyone has it now. I&apos;ve been learning genji over the past season or so and the amount of times I die because I dash something that is like 10% health but then they get immort or burst healed and now I&apos;m in the enemy team with no dash is super frustrating.. or tanks about to die he walks around a corner for .5 seconds I round the corner and they&apos;re full health already. I really don&apos;t want to go back to hitscan slop it&apos;s reliable but reliability boring.. <br><br>Always make me chuckle when people were screaming about phara being in the air too long then were a permanent flying cat with probably half the hitbox flying around like a fighter jet..

  I know it&apos;s not an issue for most people, but I&apos;d like them to do something about Bastion along with Hog and Sombra. I can fill tank because I did it a bunch in old Overwatch, but every time I make an impact on the game I have to deal with Bastion and/or Zen + Mizuki chain, Hog hook, Suzu (for my sustain if I&apos;m using Queen). I have to count so many &nbsp;cooldowns by that point that tanking just feels like a hassle. <br><br>I think Bastion and Reaper need 200 HP or something so they are less braindead to play. It should be on the easy-to-use character to watch MY cooldowns and have careful positioning if they want to negate all the effort I&apos;m putting in to peeling, dueling, and pathing for my team. If Bastion wide peeks an unsafe angle they shouldn&apos;t get to survive easily unless I play an equally braindead character like Mauga. <br><br>At higher ranks, my DPS probably punish him, but in my MMR my team is probably focusing tank or play the same angle as I am where they just run away. I know how to deal with him, just like Hog, but it ruins the tank fantasy to have to play scared until he uses turret form and then continue to play scared if any other cooldowns stop me from immediately punishing it.<br><br>I think OW still has a wider issue where higher effort characters get less value that easier one until you start one-tricking and studying guides for animation canceling. I think easier characters should be harder to win with outside of Bronze and Silver.

  after playing wowF and deadlock a bit for a few days came back to play 3 quickplay games all against mauga, i think im gonna take a bit more distance. Its not about anything else except some heroes just arent fun to play against.
