I'm a professional musician. I know what he's talking about, but it's great to see other musicians outlook on how they think of music. You never stop learning. Even basic lessons like this can be informative just for a different point of view. Keep learning and practicing. It's gets easier and easier. I have a diploma of Jazz and I still like to check videos like this out to get a different perspective. Good video. ❤

Great lesson. I think the best thing about the way you teach is that you keep it simple and apply it to something that sounds like music. Too many people try to teach all the theory in one solid lump. If it was food instead of music people wouldn’t be able to eat it all at the same time, they would literally throw up.

11:20 hi so 1st thank you for sharing a key lesson, seems a key point - limit around chord tones, on a few string, keep chord changes simple and within about 3-5 frets, limit what you take from appregios, scales, inversions, I've found alot in say David Gilmours creations like this, and with him there's a lot of this going on, so i found he's a good source for inspiration in the same way you're teaching it's where 1st I learned about triads, it was from "Run Like Hell" chords using triads and inversions D, A, G, D, A, G, A, D
3 chords, at (least!) 8 places on the fretboard starting at 10th/11th fret gbe strings down to 2nd fret gbe strings, while systematically plucking a muted open D string (key of D major (with minor mixed in too with natural and dorian) with much of his music, with run like hell well, I guess he decided to go through his triads that day. So I learned basics on triads too, and,
From that learning triads, positions and inversions has become a mission of mine, and I still struggled to make the connection to cross over using triads and chord tones using the chord formula Root, 3rd, 5th or minor replace 3rd with flat 3rd, to, variations of major and minor scale boxes that sound great without going up and down the full fretboard, but instead staying within about a 5 fret span, so I took elements from the natural minor scales, dorian scales, basically took time to study one artist and I like to think I have learned a lot, but in reality/relatively there's always something new... this is literally the definition of my love/hate relationship with music.
So, I always appreciate when good people like yourself are willing to share key musical concepts. Big 👍 from me, new subscribers too.

Love love love this breakdown especially the part of using the triads within the pentatonic box. I’m sure I’ve heard it before but for some reason your explanation and visual of it just seemed to click with me. Thanks for the inspiration!
