Hi, everyone! I'm Amanda, the director and lead producer of this documentary : ) What's everyone's favorite sign in NYC? Or the city/town you live in? Mine is Golden Star Radio's neon sign in San Francisco Chinatown, where I spent many weekends as a kid growing up in the Bay.

This should actually be a show. I guarantee is would be a hit, despite the lack of moronic drama. The real issues and interesting clients would be enough to enthrall plenty of people.

This is why I love New York. True artists. I will never look at a sign the same way again.

As a designer, I'm so glad that well designed custom and hand painted signs have been making a comeback over the last 15-20yrs. They have so much texture, soul, and uniqueness.

A large form hardcover book of these would be amazing and sell like gangbusters!

I loved this documentary. It was so well done. The signs in New York can’t be beat, and I’m glad Noble sign is carrying on the tradition.

Wow, this was really well done. NYT Cooking should really branch out and do more of these kinds of stories. There are so many passionate people, hidden in their own worlds doing awesome work, and this type of series truly showcases the genuine New Yorkers people want to watch. I forgot I was watching a NYT Cooking video, this really felt like a documentary I could get lost in. More of the hidden gems NYT!!!

I love stories like this. Preserving history and a trade. And "weirdos" make the world a better place. ❤

This video just made me realise how important signage design is to me and how much I judge businesses for having horrible designs 😂
