  Lovely harvest! Just a quick tip: it’s best to put the equipment you’re letting the bees clean far away from your hives. You might not have seen a robbing event yet, but it can happen if wild bees or bees from other apiaries find the honey. If a robbing frenzy starts, it can overwhelm and even wipe out a hive. Moving it farther away helps keep your bees safer. I go about 100 yards away with tall trees in between. Happy beekeeping! 💛🐝

  Wow! This video is sooo great! Mostly because everything you use is so attainable. Aside from the extractor, which my husband said he could make for us, we have these items in our kitchen. It's so nice to see and you've alleviated many of my fears about harvesting the honey. Also....we LOVE the FCA shirt! Thanks for being so down to earth and real.

  This has been such a peaceful and realistic walk-through – great emphasis on learning from an experienced local beekeeper. That tip alone about the cooler is a gold mine. Anyone interested in beekeeping should watch that ending. Also, a good reminder that having basic necessary gear with you will make this whole process much smoother - places like Lappes Bee Supply are very handy resources for that.
