  If you were married in your spouse passes away. You get the higher amount. If it's yours, you get yours. If it's not, you get his or hers, unfortunately, you don't get both.

  Medicare not Medicaid. You don&apos;t pay Medicaid. The $200/mo is Medicare part B. Medicare part A is your hospitalizations which are covered without extra payments from your Social Security Pension. <br><br>You can opt out of the Medicare program but you would only have hospitalized care. Meaning if your hospitalized Medicare Part A covers that. Medicare Part A requires no extra payment. <br><br>If you&apos;re gonna live permanently overseas it would be better to use that $200/mo you would pay to Medicare Part B plans to a local or global healthcare plan.<br><br>Great Video Joe!

  I moved to Thailand to enjoy life. &nbsp;My retirement income would be sufficient to live in the US (North Carolina) but it would be bare minimum. &nbsp;The save $$ amount allows me to enjoy life at a higher standard of living. &nbsp;I completely understand you POV. &nbsp;Enjoy your lifestyle and block out the haters.

  They don’t charge you for Medicaid, &nbsp;they charge for Medicare. Most on Medicare have to pay 20% on Medical costs after paying for the 80%. Some pay for an advantage or supplemental plan that covers most of the 20% but it is very limited on what you receive. The advantage plans are cheaper per but you get less. <br><br>The supplemental plans are more per month but you get more options for it. All of us are paying for Medicaid, in some way or another unless you’re on Medicaid. The biggest problem is congress keeps raiding the funds whenever they want to and wages are frozen in 1985 but prices aren’t.

  Jo, just for information in general to receive that maximum or the highest amount of SSA benefits are those people who worked 34 plus years and waited until 70 years old+ regardless of your position.

  As gen Z guy born in 99. It is harder for us. We need to be smarter with our money. Stay out of consumer debt, invest what we can, drive old cars, make sure our student loan amounts match our income we will make after school or go into the trades and live well within our means.<br><br>I have a reasonable house in our HCL area and my mortgage is 3100. Gas is $5 a gal, food is crazy, child care is impossible to afford, new cars are 30k for a economy box.
