  In college I dated a lady, in the first 5 min of the date she said &quot;how old are you? &nbsp;I told her... she said i am afraid of that (she was 10 years older than me). &nbsp;Then she said i am divorced and have a 3 year old son. &nbsp; So basically in the first 10 min of the date all the pressure was off. &nbsp;<br>We actually kept dating and have been married over 30 years before losing her to dementia. &nbsp;Best move of my life!

  I had one hard rule on dating women. No smokers. I only broke that rule once. We have been married 42 years now. By the way, she chose to quit roughly three years into the marriage. I did not make her quitting a post-marriage objective of mine. What we did have were strong shared values. We both viewed marriage as a shared life you build and create together, not as one person just joining the other person&apos;s existing life.

  That was very interesting that it’s about being brave enough to have the hard questions early on and be ready to accept negative answers, not take it personally and move on quickly. That’s definitely what I was missing.

  I got married young after a short courtship &nbsp;Instead of shopping for the right person, I think we spent our early married years becoming the right person. &nbsp;Weve been married 55 years. &nbsp;We&apos;re still evolving.

  I&apos;m 37yrs old. Just started actively dating, I tried when I was younger but never had the courage to ask the girls I liked and never liked the girls I asked. These lessons hit home cause I have been evaluating what stopped me from living my life and asking out or pursuing what I want. I&apos;ve had to come to accept I had a lot of fear and insecurities that would always stop me from trying. So now I&apos;m getting over my fears, putting myself out there and making a massive change to my whole attitude and appearance. I may have been ready for a relationship when I was a teenager, but now I am ready for a partnership.
