  Wow!!!  Really interesting video.   My family and I were living in Port Alberni in 1954... I was 8 years old and as you might expect have no memory of the crash. Mt. Arrowsmith has such a commanding presence in the valley and always a source of wonder and mystery to those who live there...

  I've been up that mountain a few times, and heard friends talk about seeing the wreck. Now at my age, your video is a much more pleasant way of seeing the scenery.

  The item at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LbuALHrPww&amp;t=972">16:12</a> is called a &apos;command receiver&apos; also known as &apos;Arc 5 Receiver&apos; aka &apos;BC 454 receiver&apos;. &nbsp;I have a few of them and used to use one when I first became a ham radio operator in the late 1960&apos;s.

  I&apos;ve been hearing about a plane crash site on that Mountain for many years, maybe my old legs can get me up there one more time to see that site. Thanks for sharing.

  That 1st propeller and engine were turning, (rotating) upon impact. (Rotational damage and deformation seen,) &nbsp;meaning no engine failure ??<br>Seeing that seat was so haunting and sombre for me.   I played in a band out of Parksville. We hadn&apos;t named the band and were kinda struggling.....so as we drove from one guys place to the rehearsal space, we went through all the different reasons a band might name themselves something.... just as we got to the category of &quot;Something or somewhere important to the band&quot;, we turned a corner and there was the mountain in a beautiful twilight of blue sky and white peaks.... three guys in perfect unison all said &quot;Arrowsmith&quot; . LOL

  TY team. Am lifetime Islander and recall my parents recalling the tragedy, even at 60 today. Confusion with a Martin-Mars water bomber<br>incident, I was not aware it was an RCAF loss. RIP to our airmen, and contractor.
