I love how it seems like every artist has a weird metaphor for their sketchbooks😂

This is really hard to share, but being a Vietnamese kid, "doing" my times hunting down Iain's Shadowline book for 3 years, looking through every single drawing of his on Google, and religiously watching his lectures and talks on YouTube since my secondary school, I honestly cried when getting to hear his voice of warmth, enthusiasm and passion in this sketchbook series. Most sincere thank-yous to the THU team for making this available for free. I'll find a way to meet up with Iain one day.

If you're not making sound effects when you're drawing then is your heart really into it?

Drawing as a form of meditation for gratitude & mindfulness... is the ultimate purpose.

He should be a voice over artist. His voice modulation is so captivating.

I was lucky enough to get to see him and his daughter speak in the lecture hall at Lightbox Expo 2019, and then later in the much smaller panel at the same expo. His enthusiasm and energy is boundless and I could listen to him speak all day. Such a fun guy! We were all drawing along with him in the panel, and he was running around the room praising this person's hair, that person's nose, the way that guy was sitting....he pulls from everywhere and though his knowledge and skills are incredible, I think his sheer enthusiasm and love for the art make him one of the most fun and inspiring artists out there. This video was a great reminder of that amazing experience!
