It was refreshing to see people watch this who give themselves over to the sincerity and melodrama of the movie. The unapologetic sensuality and sexuality, the visuals taking center stage, no smarminess towards the story—it makes this movie such an engaging, memorable viewing experience. Thanks for reacting!

Keanu Reeves had actually appeared in three films back to back before he did this and was exhausted and apparently he was such was nice guy that Coppola didn’t have the heart to fire him.

The 90s were a dark time, where directors kept making our poor sweet Keanu try to do ACCENTS.

Aside from that, though, this movie is a delight! :)

Easily one of the best modern adaptations of Bram Stoker’s novel out there. This is the movie when I realized just how formidable Gary Oldman is as an actor. Absolutely mesmerizing performance. Great movie for spooky season!

The costume designer, Eiko Ishioka, is so talented and worked a lot with director Tarsem Singh on many of his productions including The Cell, The Fall, and The Immortals. Some of the greatest costumes put on film.

56:11 I forgot that Diamanda Galas was hired to do those creepy vocals for the film; she was friends with Copolla. One of the greatest vocalists of all time, though not for the faint of heart. The woman could do Hendrix solos with her voice. Unparalleled
