  Sir Don retired five years before I was born but to boys of my era he was still the greatest sporting hero of my time.

  Just bought myself a graded Bradman 1928 Rookie Card. Truly Australia&apos;s greatest athletic icon, his demeanour and speech reflect this great mans legacy, what a fine gentleman and phenom! RIP

  Paul Kelly had sung a wonderful song as well on Sir Donald Bradman, and he will always be a legend to always look up to as a True Blue Australian.<br><br>We as Australians Sir Donald Bradman will always love you and miss you. Rest In Peace Sir Donald Bradman as you will be missed and cherished by many 🙏😇🙏🌈🇦🇺🌺

  My average sized brain just can not comprehend how great Sir Donald must have been.

  Incredibly humble man. Unheard of in any major international sport for the dominant player to be 40% better than his nearest rival over a career. The famous Bradman career batting average of 99.94. The nearest are a few players who averaged about 60 in their career (Sobers, Pollock, etc). Then greats like Richards, Tendulkar, Ponting, etc averaged around 53. But no one managed to average 70 or 75 in a career? Let alone 99! Unbelievable, no comes close to Bradman, and they never will.. Just incredible.

Picket fence was slightly further out and there were no rope boundaries then.<br>When the Don batted here and other Sheffield Shield venues they would be at capacity even in the depression era.
