  Dude i picked up a biology book and i came up with some pretty good ideas on companies to start although i wanna become a dr still deciding what i wanna specialize but looking at my grade scores in anatomy all my scores were B average with one C on exams and except for two 96 and 98 score on exams covering body organization and tissues and cells, and the second one being 5 subjects blood, blood vessels, heart system, lymphatic systems, respiratory systems. I did pretty well in these subjects the best along with the labs.

  I cam here ready to type up a storm about another influencer who left medicine, but I will tell ya&apos;ll that his points are good. Honest, but good. Which is a nice change of pace from what you will too often see in academia (ironically). Too many medical students glorify specialties as medical students. They see the fancy term of surgeon for example and see themselves cutting in the OR. But they don&apos;t visualize it when they&apos;re 30, and still in debt, working 70-100+ hours a week, will multiple years of training plus or minus fellowship still left. Some specialties have relatively high drop out rates for a reason. You need to really sit down and think the decision through long term. Can you get through the grueling residency? Do you enjoy the specialty for more than just it&apos;s novelty as a medical student? Everything becomes routine over time in every specialty.

  Hi Dr. Lucas! I don’t know if you remember me but you were actually my PBL facilitator during first year and I just started my 4th year. Everything you said is totally true! I was obgyn the whole time during preclinicals but then did a rotation and realized I didn’t like the lifestyle. Then I thought I wanted EM, but felt so burnt out after a month of it that I knew I couldn’t do it for the rest of my life. <br><br>Then I did an anesthesia rotation (which is a specialty that was never on my radar) and after I finished a month in it I was like wait! I kinda wanna go back! So I did! I kept going even after finishing the rotation and would go in on my days off from the new rotations I was starting. That’s how I knew it was the one for me :) plus they were the only attendings who weren’t miserable after 10+ years on the job😅<br><br>Anyways, glad to see you’re helping other students, this was a great video!

  Very cool video, I love all your videos! I’m a nurse about to finish NP school and heavily interested in going DO eventually. I wanted to ask you something if it’s not too intrusive - did you end up taking any meds for that anxiety you had? I’ve always been more anxious than the average person, but it has gotten worse with medical training for sure (even though it’s not medical school) and I’m wondering what other people’s experience has been (if any) with meds for that, especially in school.

  The lifestyle specialitys are Derm. Optho, PMR, geriatrics* and Endo*. <br><br>This idea of picking the lifestyle before the speciality is so backwards And it why thousands of med students and residents quit (or become youtubers). &nbsp;Prestige over work.<br><br>If your mindset going in is &quot;its just a job&quot; and &quot; i want a 9-5 with vacation and PTO&quot; . Youre better off becoming a PA or NP. Its 1/5 the training cost and practice time. Its also flexible with far less responsibilty and you can work for a doctor who shields you from malpractice<br><br>&quot;But i want that sweet sweet doctor money and i want to be done working at 1pm&quot;, well - goodluck. So do millions of other applicants.<br><br>As a practicing doctor I&apos;ve know Derm and ortho friends who quit to do real estate raise kids or life on farms. Money didnt make them happy. They still had to come in and do the work. So they grinded , paid off their monstrous student loans and left the practice.
