  I'm a woman living in Cape Town, South Africa. The husband  character in this story was very wise and deserves a medal. I have seen in my life how money changes people and I must say I find it shocking. In cases I've observed I actually found that money can be used as an on/off switch with certain types of people.....disgustingly accurately. I agree that silence about your financial situation is crucial for protection and survival. Thank you for this story.❤🇿🇦

  Magnolia TX,  I think you did the right thing. She never asked in detail what you did for a living. She assumed. You loved her and wanted her to succeed. Getting to sure of ourselves can become the calm before the storm,

  Second point: when her restaurant was failing, he was able to dissect her personality and character — all the traits that showed who she was, how badly she wanted to be a self-made woman, how her identity was wrapped up in her status. He saw all of that clearly enough to help her when she was failing. So when her &quot;true character&quot; came out later, why the surprise? He wanted to be loved by her so badly that he ignored the very character she&apos;d built the whole relationship on. That&apos;s on you, sir.

  V was indeed a cruel woman, arrogant and narcissitic.<br><br>From the outset, you made yourself small, the smaller you allowed yourself to become, the crueller and more arrogant she became.<br><br>She got exactly what she deserved. &nbsp;Some people never learn until they feel exactly what they inflict on others.<br><br>Well told story🎉
