Remember when all you needed was a switched 12v to the HEI distributor to start an engine. No safeties, no computers, no limp modes. Just run it till it melts. The good ole days.

Only dipsticks would think it's a good idea to get rid of the dipstick! 🤦

The only part on any new car that is guaranteed to work and never fail is the "Check Engine Light"

Oil and transmission dipstick deletes DRIVE ME CRAZY! I am an old timer. I would and still check my fluids every other fill up. When I was a kid and you had people pump you gas. They would always offer to check your fluids and your battery! Ahhhh the good old days!

I'm a GM apprentice with our transmission tech here at a dealer and that sensor is one I've undone several times to move the starter out of the way to gain access to the torque converter bolts.

Specifically on the gas V8s I can get a little more room to move the starter and get better access to the converter bolts. If you look closely at the frame, the coating seems to be smudged all around that area so I wouldn't be surprised someone left it unplugged after doing a starter or doing some transmission out work. Just my 2 cents though. Always love watching yall work on GM vehicles so I can learn more. Keep it up👍

Clips like the fuel pump control module should get some dielectric grease around that seal, then she’s submersible! 😉

I had low oil pressure in a 2005 Silverado 5.3; it was the O-ring that goes in-between the pickup tube and the oil pump. $8 at the dealer for the O-ring and MANY hours to get it in the truck!

No dipstick, harder for DIY, more money for dealer repair.
