You should read Anglosaxon hispanists like Charles F. Lummis, Herbert E. Bolton, John H. Elliott, Stanley G. Payne, G. K. Chesterton, etc about Spain and the Conquest, and also British Robert Goodwin, Doctor in History, author of Spain Center of the World 1519-1680 who even says it's more important to be Spanish than to be British or French, which is quite something!

It's a string of lies, some out of ignorance and most out of bad faith

We call that in Spain the black legend promoted by the anglos. Part of it it's true but exaggerated. Some Spanish believe In a pink legend, meaning that the conquest was done with flowers and music. The truth is in the middle.

The use of "civil war" as a means for expanding the financial interests of third parties holds a valuable lesson for us today!
For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear...
Good Night & Good Luck!

Claiming that the population of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) was 4 million before the arrival of the Spaniards is nonsensical, ridiculous, and childish. We know exactly how many groups, tribes, and clans existed—along with their names—and it is a known fact that a human society at a Neolithic level of development, lacking a writing system, typically comprises a maximum of 500 to 2,000 people. I know there were no more than 20 to 50 such groups—I don't recall the exact number or names right now, but that was the scale—meaning the maximum total population for the entire island would be 2,000 times 50, or 100,000 people (even accounting for the Taínos whom the Caribs used to eat, and so on). So, enough with the lies, nonsense, and childishness... the same applies to the rest: across the entire Americas, there were no more than 20 million pre-Columbian inhabitants; claiming 60 million is nonsense, and 100 million is sheer stupidity.

From the book "The Last Days of the Incas" the big tech difference the Spanish had in the war with the Inca was their steel armor, as the Incas weapons couldn't penetrate it. At the ten-month siege of Cuzco in 1536/37 200k Inca were not able to defeat the Spanish garrison as the only way they stood a chance of killing a armored defender was by hitting them in an unarmored place in the head using stones and lead thrown by their slingers. Regardless, the Inca commander, Manko, was able to defeat two relief columns by rolling boulders down on them when the Spanish were moving through canyons. The Inca's defeat, despite overwhelming odds in their favor, is recognized as one of, if not the most lop-sided battles in history.

Some of the stuff is interesting (eg how Cortes actions reflect the standard reconquista playbook), but the anti-spanish bias (hatred may be a more accurate word) in presenting the story is so brutal that makes it a very fine piece of "Leyenda Negra".

I am so tired of the vitimization of the poor jews and the horrible inquisition. What about those who were fighting for the moors and attacking the europeans, or those who were making horrible acts for greed?
