Hello Elizabeth!! I’m the composer and orchestrator of this song and I just wanted to thank you for giving so much love and appreciation to this song and to my friend & hero Ironmouse!!! Hearing your perspective on this song and performance as a professional musician is SUCH a treat!!

I also wanted to especially thank you for your perspective towards the end of the video, where you posit that VTubing could possibly be the future of opera. I cried tears of joy hearing that. My dream is to spread appreciation for classical music and to make it more accessible to everyone - it wasn’t accessible to me and Mousey because of our respective life circumstances, but through VTubing we were able to help make each other’s dreams come true anyway, and I think a world where classical music could do that for more people would be such a beautiful one 💛

Anyway, pardon the lengthy comment, thank you again and I’d love to chat about music sometime if you’re ever up for it! I have a feeling Mousey is going to love this video 💖

If anyone is new to Mouse, she recently announced she’s able to walk for about 15 mins, that’s her level of mobility

Fun fact: Mouse HATED that gasping breath you hear in the song. StarlightDaryl left it in to exemplify the desperation. It has been well received by the community and critics alike.

As a former violinist, I was pleasantly surprised to find out this was recorded by a full orchestra. It's the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. It's on StarlightDaryl's Youtube page, for those who are curious.

Mousey put the credits in the middle because she wanted to make sure people saw them and appreciated the people she worked with before they clicked off the video ❤

As others have said, I REALLY hope that you manage to do a Tea Time with Ironmouse! I know she would be 100% up for it, she geeks out about Opera and singing, she's been very open about her illness and how it's effected her singing and so on, so I hope that either you reach out to her or she reaches out to you because I think both of you would have a very interesting conversation

She was studying to be a legit opera singer when her illness got to her. It actually changed her voice considerably. It's taken her years to get back to be able to sing again. You should hear her do vocal impersonations of Shakira

UPDATE: Mouse has now watched this live on stream. Someone dropped 25K channels points to recommend it to her. YT won't like me posting a link but Mouse has posted her reaction on her YT channel.

Ironmouse originally planned to pursue a career as a coloratura soprano opera singer, but was diagnosed with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), an immune disorder that has left her largely bedridden and isolated. It has also led to a lung infection called mycobacterium avium complex as she revealed in 2021.She recorded this
In bed
On oxygen
In a blanket fort (to muffle the sound of the medical machines)
With a sinus infection

Old rocker dude here...I had NO IDEA there was such a thing as Ironmouse, and this approach to creating new opera works is a welcome surprise...I'll be listening to more Ironmouse! Also love seeing Elizabeth so excited for the chance to geek out and explain real opera to us again. Never lose that fire in your eyes, E!
