  This past week I did my first confession in 19 years. I watched several videos including this one prior to going.<br>I thought I was prepared but became nervous anyhow. The priest was very welcoming and helped me through it. <br>I left feeling closer to God than I have for a long time.

  I’m being confirmed and receiving first Eucharist this Easter as an adult in OCIA and have first confession later today!! Love too #2 about destroying my list! 🙏🏽🥺

  I did exactly this during lent last year. &nbsp;I had done my first confession in grade school but hadn&apos;t gone back since. &nbsp;I booked an appointment with the priest and spend about an hour with him going over my life and all the problems I had had and all the sins that I could remember. &nbsp;I have been going regularly since then but I don&apos;t always recognize all the little venial sins; I understand that they are dealt with during the Mass.<br>I&apos;m going to save this video and share with my friends.

  So, I had not been to confession in 30 years. I wanted to go before Easter. There was a long line but I did not cut and run which I was tempted. When I got to the very anonymous confessional I was a wreck. So I had my mortal sins ready to go. He stopped me as soon as I said 30 like &quot;did you say 30?&quot; &quot;Yes,&quot; I said. So I told him the mortal sins that had been ruining my life. When I did say them, I did give a little context but not much. He then said, &quot;those are mortal sins, please set up an appt as I have a long line.&quot;<br><br>I was crushed as it took all the courage I had to go to confession after 30 years.<br><br>I left with no absolution and cried all the way home. I felt doomed. So , I will have to go to another parish because I don&apos;t feel right going back to my parish now which could take months to muster up more courage.

  IMO, &nbsp;if you go to confession, God knows why you are there. &nbsp;For that reason alone, asking for forgiveness for your sins is the key to receiving it. &nbsp;All humans are sinful, mostly in the same ways, and can receive God&apos;s forgiveness by asking HIM for it. &nbsp;He is all merciful and understands us better than we understand ourselves. &nbsp;So, for catholics, just the act of going to confession will give us HIS forgiveness just because we took the time to do it. &nbsp;Glory to God.
