Rocastle to me, I always remember when i was a kid, seeing a sort of topical football show, it had him travelling on the tube to training, and i thought it was so cool. He always impressed me with his game, even when he left us, he was born in the same place as I was, Lewisham. We all lost a great person, when he left us... R.I.P. Rocky

I remember picking-up my programme outside Arsenal tube station for the Arsenal v Man Utd game in May 1991 and was aghast to see Rocky Rocastle grinning in the new away kit in there. I hated it. What a mess.
But a mixture of good performances in it and opposition fans' goading brought me round to it. Now it makes me well-up because it reminds me of Rocky. I was there when he scored that wonderful goal at Old Trafford in it. I was at Wrighty's debut at Filbert Street too.

I still have my original though it really has seen better days, I'm gutted I missed the re-release. The new blue banana is sublime. We've had some corking away kits recently but this is the best.

RIP David Rocastle. We still love and miss you.

The only thing better and more enduring than the Bruised Banana is Wrighty’s love for Rocky

You see, this club, my club, gives me chills. The only other things that make my heart swell with this much pride are God, my family & friends and maybe, my career. Arsenal, my Arsenal; everytime I look at you, you bring tears, good tears to my eyes. You make me fee somekind of way, a very good kind of way.

Love that shirt, and the 98 away shirt. We should always be in yellow / blue away 💛💙❤️🤍

I remember the bruised banana was quite dislikedat first, as we were all hoping for a shirt that resembled the yellow & blue shirt that we won the league at Anfield in: Nevertheless, it became more iconic as the weeks went past, then.... Ian Wright signed and it was MAGNIFICENT! To see Rocky and Wright in the same team was beautiful ❤
A little sidenote.....My friends and I called it the PIZZA SHIRT, as it resembles cuts of pizza! 😊
