  I'm surprised Zulu didn't make the list. The battle of Rorke's Drift directly influenced Helm's Deep, for starters, and the action feels both tactical and tense even today.

  Ok, but the Battle of the Pellenor Fields wasn’t just spectacle, it had so many character moments and Theoden’s speech with the charge of the Rohirim is immortal.

  The Return of the King has spectacle that is earned. We've had time to get to know the characters. The battles are supposed to be the big ones.

  I'd defend the battles of Kingdom of Heaven. The Armies were impossibly big sure, but the person to person fights were great and it had some of the best castle defense tactics I've ever seen.

  I had the honour  to be in saving private  rayn and braveheart.  The Irish  defence  forces did the battle scenes.  It was one of the most amazing  times of my life

  I always liked the final battle between the crew of the &quot;Surprise&quot; and the crew of the &quot;Acheron&quot; in &quot;Master and Commander&quot; It ticked all three boxes with a GIANT TICK. Sure, it wasn&apos;t 10,000 men on a side but it was, by reason of the tight quarters, fast and brutal.

  The Return of the King and the Battle of Pelenor Fields I always enjoyed. One thing I believed would have made the battle better and more enjoyable would be replacing the army of the dead with the original Gondorian reinforcements like the book. It would have cut out the overuse of cgi at the end.
