  U of M is about 45-60 minutes from Detroit so you can enjoy concerts and festivals. It's perfectly placed in my opinion

  I just find it so funny when I hear others opinions on Michigan weather. I was born and raised in Michigan. Never realized how weird the weather is, I just always thought it was normal &nbsp;<br><br><br>(30 degrees is really nice weather in my opinion, i’m used to the cold LOL)

  Michigan weather is unpredictable; one day it was 60° out and the next it was 10°. There was like no spring this year.

  Something weird about Michigan is that when your close to the U of M, everybody where’s blue. When your close to MSU, everybody wears green.

  Don’t be too upset about the whole lack of Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods there, there’s barely any of those in Michigan in general!

  I took my PhD in engineering from Michigan. &nbsp;It was a fantastic experience: wonderful resources, world class research with professors who are internationally renowned. &nbsp;<br>The weather is not that bad during winter (the Upper Peninsula is much worse!) and Ann Arbor is a terrific college town.<br>Enjoy your time there and study hard! And of course - Go Blue!

  It’s so interesting to see the point of view from someone who still loves UMich but didn’t grow up here. I was born and raised in detroit and am a sophomore in high school and I’ve been a wolverine all my life. It’s in my blood. Go Blue!!!!

  I actually found this really helpful since I want to go to U-M next year so thank you. Plus, I completely understand the struggle with the weather since I’m from Detroit😂
