I used to assume ancient humans simply had poor hygiene because they didn't know any better. This video completely flipped that idea for me. They weren't living carelessly—they were surviving in a world that worked very differently from ours, and their habits made sense in that environment. It's amazing how learning a little more context can completely change the way we judge the past. Great explanation—I genuinely learned something new today.

This really changes the way I think about ancient hygiene. They weren’t dirty or stupid — they just didn’t know the invisible mechanism behind what they were already doing.

The real plot twist is that ancient people washed their hands constantly, while modern people understand germ theory and still need a sign above the sink.

Love that the whole premise flips — they did wash, constantly, just for ritual and social reasons instead of germs. The idea that thousands of years of accidental hygiene worked perfectly while nobody knew why is wild 🔥 great watch.

I've remember there's a manga that explains why midwife performing/assisting in giving birth has lower mortality rate than doctors consided genius that time because midwife washing their hands before assisting while the doctors who performing surgery is proud that their machete is full of blood stain and rust from previous cutting of limbs because it proves their excellence.

It's fascinating how they had hygiene practices, even without understanding germ theory
