English: Sage is intentionally vague because “I will not share information with the enemy.”

Japanese: Sage constantly refers to “The Doctor” from the start.

Sonic: Who could this “Doctor” be? Trying to fit the square peg into the circle hole.

When I played this in Japanese, I was kinda surprised by how different the script was. Even though I don't know much Japanese, the words I do know were able to clue me in. Also, no Engrish aside from borrowed words. Unusual.

No "Cream and Sticks" are mentioned in the Japanese version to this game. It's not necessary to mention Sticks if she was part of the Boom universe.
A big thanks for translating the Japanese dialogue to this game, Windii! I am truly appreciate your hard work on your translation. It's good to have you back again with your different channel!

45:49 I really want to know why the dialogue was completely changed for this part. Don't get me wrong, I like that Sonic remembers the events of Adventure, but its a little weird that this is about Knuckles wanting to know more about the Master Emerald and not about dealing with his own issues.

For many Sonic stories, just flipping the English script to Japanese makes the stories a 1000 times better, but not really with this game. Maybe that's because this game's script was written in English first by Ian Flynn. It also doesn't help that Frontiers' story is pretty much a "nothing-burger" at the end of the day. The only thing that's superior to the English script is Amy's story; it's much less vague and chooses to actually address her love for Sonic as opposed to English where it's completely ignored. "I was only thinking about the immediate future" is much more satisfying than "share that love with the world."

I just learned that Megumi Hayashibara, the voice of Rei in Evangelion, voices Sage in this game. Holy shit that's perfect casting, she has a very soft and quiet voice, she's a character who isn't really vocal with her emotion, and just does her job without much opposition. She even kinda looks like Rei with the hair.

Thanks for all your hard work translating, its much appreciated. I think the weirdest thing for me in this localization is sonic is missing his trademark english phrases, its strange not to hear them. Even the jp trailer for sonic prime has them but not the mainline game?

At 1:27:50 the end's scream is goddamn horrifying, and also I like how instead of using the power of friendship they just became corrupted again by taking the cyber corruption from sonic back on to themselves which is what I originally thought was happening in the english dub & I thought it made more sense so yeah.

Something I noticed is that while in the english version, the characters are gonna go travel on their own for a while, in the japanese version, they never mention leaving, just workimg on themselves, doing things their way😅
