Personally, I think the real engineering masterpiece is everything hidden behind the dam: massive foundations, water diversion, turbines, and systems built to handle extreme hydraulic forces

It would have been helpful if all this was summarised in a diagram showing the path of the water through the mountains and onto the turbines before rejoining the river.
