This was my first Mario Party game, this still remains one of my favorites in the franchise, along side Mario Party 6

You forgot to mention that not only was Mario Party DS Bowser Jr’s debut it’s also Diddy Kong’s debut in the series as well

Except the part when Emile from TheRunawayguys got 22 Stars in DK's Stone Statue on the last 5 turns Bowser via event.

My only problem with DS is the unfair duels, the number coins and stars wagered can be ridiculous  (all your coins/half your coins is so situational and you risking 2 stars while your opponent risks 0 is nuts)

this game was venomously vindictive to Claire. Especially when she got the 1-Star Hex Ztar combo and the 2-Star Hex. Not to mention Wario stealing items from her TWICE. And they say Mario Party destroys friendships, DS basically ANNIHILATES them.

Expert CPUs on this title are BRUTAL. Some minigames are outright impossible; Starcatchers, Rail Riders, Trace Cadets to name a few

After seeing ProtonJon's Landslide, I was given an answer to why this game is barely played by modern crowds. Wow was that brutal. I got discouraged from playing myself

I play this game regularly with a friend when he comes by my place. We frequent the Bowser board due to us feeling like it makes the best use of the low and warp dice. I'm personally a fan of roulette while he's terrified of the Bowser Zone and always has a warp die on hand. There is supposedly a higher chance of getting the Star Zone at lower placings but we've seen up to 2nd place land on the Star Zone.

The one Mario Party where ProtonJon/Claire (who still identified as Jon at the time) did not get a SINGLE board win with TRG.
