As a kid, I loved Jerry Lewis. As an adult, he makes me feel sick of how abusive he was to all in his path. My heart goes out to his children and ex-wife.

Jerry certainly painted a different picture of himself and his sons, specifically his relationship with Gary, in his autobiography. A fellow I used to work with told me his dad played the contortionist in the Martin & Lewis film "Three Ring Circus". When filming on location a crowd of onlookers would gather outside the perimeter to watch the filming. When a scene was finished, Jerry would hurry off to his dressing room to avoid the fans, whereas Dean would walk over to meet, talk, shake hands and pose for pictures. Jerry created a lot of fun movie memories but discovering the inner truth about the man has shadowed his reputation for many.

I was a friend of Gary Lewis . I knew him when in lived in Los Angeles. Hes a very good person. I wish I could see him again .Gary you have a friend for life.

I saw him on TV "pretending" to strangle a woman , except that she cried out " you're really strangling me". It was scary thing to see.

Jerry did promote his son's music. In the 1965 movie "The Family Jewels" after he puts Donna to bed, he sits down by a stereo system and puts a record on. It's Gary Lewis & the Playboys "This Diamond Ring" and Jerry seems to enjoy the song. Again in 1966, He allows Gary to write & perform the movie theme for "Way Way Out" which is a pretty decent song.
