The part where he said the pulling away isn't about not loving you, it's about being scared, really got me. I've spent years taking the distance personally, and this changed how I see it 🥹

This is why we have to heal our wounds from childhood in order to remember that we’re WHOLE.

We’re never “BROKEN”…

We must choose to change the story by grieving the loss we’ve suffered from our past.

It’s not easy

Yet.

It changes the whole game.

It’s amazing to see men and women doing their own healing work lately. ❤🌎🍀

This is exactly what my husband and I worked through in our 40s. When I went through my menopause journey, it was so challenging for him, and it really allowed him to see parts of himself that he needed to heal, which I'm so grateful for. Honestly, what Ryan is talking about is so true, and the fact that he's so young is incredibly mature on his part.

It’s me again. The last time I felt this wide open about a podcast you had done was when you had John DeMartini on. This episode was so timely in my life. My little girl ruined a potential relationship. I then started to ask the question, “How do you know WHO to hurt for?” What I meant by that question was we know there will be some sort of pain in relationships when you are bringing two people into one space. There are learning curves and new terrain being discovered that is going to bring about grief. This podcast shined this BEAUTIFUL REVEALING LIGHT on how I continue to show up in romantic relationships even though I’ve read all the books, watched all the long form podcast, and had all the “meaningful” conversations. I feel so seen and understood and this podcast covered mostly men. I could go on, but I’m not going to do that to you, lol. Thank you both so much for staying true to your purpose of healing others. I needed this on this day at this stage in my life. As a forty-one year old black woman, I often feel that it’s “too late for me”, but then God shows me through situations like this, that it’s never too late for Him. To both of you, continue to heal us broken vessels and be blessed and encouraged while doing so.

So great and love Ryan’s work. Really glad you pushed back on the black and white of if you can’t love them as they are- they aren’t your person idea. I completely agree we have standards and the person most aligned for you will ask you -maybe not verbally -to rise to your greatness. It goes both ways. Thank you for this podcast!!❤

Anxious and Avoidant (Dismissive, Fearful) Attachment Styles!!!!!! We all need to do our inner work (males and females) for our inner child.

The same is true of women. They all have a wounded little girl in them, and often have the wound deepened by the men they encounter in the world. Not just intimate partners.

Everything from make friends, bosses, co-workers and even strangers.

Not all men are predators, but all women are prey...

That's why it's so important for us to feel safe in intimate relationships and we are able to hold our men through their healing process when they provide safety.

Men just have different imprints... Even in terms of rites of passage. Women are denied this at the stage of menstruation, child birth and menopause. None of these are honored as such for us. I really think that's why menopause becomes so significant.

I recall reading the book Iron John and learning far more about what's been missing for men... And it's not their fault.

It's more than missing the rite of passage. Society changed in ways that disconnected them from fathers and other elder men. With a large contributing factor being the depth of betrayal when they went off to the Vietnam war.

That's why all of this is so incredibly important to be having conversations about and I really appreciate that you guys are doing so.

People are not safe. I'm 47 and every year this becomes more and more proven and engrained. Much of these challenges can be avoided by simply not having close relationships. Keep things arms-length. It's just safer.

I actually think that the majority of one’s own healing will occur in silence and in prayer asking for forgiveness from the Lord. To think that one could heal oneself on their own or in a group of other humans would be dangerous thinking without discernment. We didn’t create our own little boy. How could we possibly ever heal something that we did not create you can only be the awareness of your little boy
