It doesn't matter that you failed, it only matters that you rebuilt it stronger and better and tried again. Amazing work mate!

You should be proud of yourself building a drone project from scratch, documenting it and leaning engineering at the same time, that takes some dedication!
Well done young man!

As someone who spent many, many years researching this exact technology but never got the chance to actually build it, seeing you bring this massive brushless motor to life from scratch is deeply moving. I know firsthand the staggering amount of technical research, mathematical precision, and endless trial-and-error that goes into drone motor design before you even start fabrication. You didn’t just build a motor; you successfully executed a masterpiece of engineering. I learned so much watching your process today. Congratulations on this incredible success—your hard work and dedication deserve to be recognized by millions!

For a completely self-built system from scratch, I find that absolutely impressive. Great work, buddy! Keep it up and never give up!

I got into drones when I was 58. I work in a high tech business and struggle to find people who care about all the things that technical success require of a person: commitment, diligence, focus and most important failure and recovery. I am now 68. It’s a blessing to see you fought your way through. Flying a 4’ beast is not where I would have suggested you begin to learn the art of flight. I knew you were not in “acro” when you tried to flip. It hurts allot less when you learn this lesson on a 4” drone.

Very cool that you're parents were there for the flight. A good support team is priceless. No worries about the time between videos. Quality over quantity. Don't burn yourself out with unrealistic goals for yourself. I look forward to the next video. Take care of yourself.

I watched your project — it’s really impressive that you built your own brushless motors and a 1.2-meter quadcopter from scratch!

I just wanted to share a small observation:
When doing flips and rolls, large drones like yours become much harder to control because of physics.
A larger frame has much greater rotational inertia, and big propellers have higher rotational inertia too, which makes it harder for the motors to quickly change speed and create the torque needed for fast maneuvers.

If you want to perform fast flips and rolls more easily, it’s best to have a smaller frame, with smaller and lighter propellers, and higher motor RPM.
This way, your quadcopter can react faster, generate more torque relative to its inertia, and flip much more easily.

Your work is already amazing — keep going!

Truly impressive work, Logan! Your dedication to custom designing nearly every component—from the hand-wound motors to the 3D-printed frame—is a masterclass in engineering and perseverance. Seeing you navigate the 'rabbit hole' of PID tuning and bounce back after that crash is incredibly inspiring, especially while being a full-time student. Thanks for being so transparent about the challenges and for generously sharing your CAD files with the community. Can’t wait to see your next big project!

I just want to say thank you so much to take your time to share it with the world. This will inspire many people.

There's no failures...
