I’ve been keeping bees for over 40 years in the UK and if I need to relocate the hive it needs transporting at lease 3 miles away from the apiary. After 3-4days then transfer to the new site. If on the other hand a series of short moves of 1 yard at a time every day.

Thank you so much for this guide. I'm in Colorado Springs and a first year beekeeper. Today we had scorcher at 90+ with humidity in the teens. My bees have drained multiple jars of syrup, they've been heavy on their water, and massive bearding at the hive entrance. This has been so informational!

If you would like to send a donation to help those affected by the fires, please donate to https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong.

It is heartbreaking hearing the stories of what people in Lahaina, Maui have experienced this week. I live on the Big Island. Myself, my family (and the bees) are all safe and our home was not damaged.

This video was filmed this week, just before the fires began in Maui. The air is now starting to clear up and the skies are blue again. I hope this video can help those of you in areas also being affected by the high heat. If you have any other tips to add, please leave them in the comments!
Aloha,
Laryssa
