  Fr Mike when I was single and discerning I took your advice to “Take Action” I’ve prayed and seek the Lord with all my heart. I signed up in Catholic Match and paid for 12 months subscription and said to myself if I don’t meet anyone after a year then that’s it I’ll be single. Thanks be to God I met my husband after 10 months then we got married within a year when I was 40 yo and we have a child now. Married life is challenging but it’s beautiful. God’s timing is always perfect

  Amazing how Fr. Mike can answer these questions while completely respecting the privacy of the couples he has worked with. You can tell he is used to respecting the seal of confession.

  Not dating someone because of misplaced virtue or unbalanced emphasis on their character or Christ-likeness when you are not very attracted to them is legitimately golden advice in a christian dating advice culture that often says "Stop focusing on attraction or things that change/don't matter and just go ask out the most Godly person you know." It still only works if you're into them. It's so simple, but so refreshing to hear when you're not sure what you're to do with the Godly singles around you who you aren't particularly attracted to. Thank you!

  Our good priest offered us a chance out every time we met. Even the day of our wedding. Best decision ever marrying my husband. We’ve grown exponentially in marriage ❤❤❤

  Ah, dating in 2025! What a joy! Lol. The idea of offering up the pain of my singleness and modern-day dating struggles to the Lord just popped into my head. I'll start that. Thankfully, I am very active at my parish, and that gives me a sense of purpose, but for the longest time, the uncertainty of feeling called to marriage but not moving in that direction was very confusing. I am in a place now where I don't mind the idea of being single for the rest of my life.

  I do exactly the same thing.  I thought I was the only one.  I think I wish I could go back no time, and the only condition is that you don’t remember you traveled back.  It makes me want to make good choices today.

  The Catholic Church failed me in my marriage prep. Boy could I teach the course now myself and would never hold back the truth of marriage. Don't be afraid Father to speak up. We need your suggestions and support. Marriage is a very very very big deal. Most people have no clue what they are up to.
