  The thing about that codec conversation is that everything he was talking about was already happening at the time, just in a much less extreme fashion as it is today

  This is another reason Why Metal Gear has been getting so much new appreciation. it is scary just how accurate it predicted our path forward from a game that came out over a quarter of century ago.

  Played this game with my buddies over my 16th birthday, right when it was released. We thought it was broken and glitching out. Then we felt like we were broken and glitching out. Almost a quarter century later, still remember that weekend and the lessons it taught.

  The sad part is if you made the study of this moment a required lesson in education to teach the dangers of &quot;content without context,&quot; there would be people incapable of changing their worldview, because they are so heavily defined by what they &apos;believe&apos; not what they &apos;know.&apos;
