  Peter its all the G's here!  G90 (internal Tuner) 1/2 size G5RV as inverted Vee @ 10m to apex on Spiderbeam 12.4m HD pole with top sections secured inside to give length 10m 1:1 unun at rig end. Its inside a bit of concreated Drain Pipe been up two years so far very happy.

  Greetings Peter - I started out with a full sized G5RV long ago and it worked well.  My current favorites are a CCD Dipole with silver mica caps every 3 feet, which is a shortened 40 with low noise along with 20 meters and above, along with 60 meters using a 4:1 balun.  It has a 300Khz B/W due to the capacitors and allows you low to the roof or at 50', either way very effective.  My other for field day is a Spider mobile stainless steel vertical with a Hustler single piece extension which is a top loaded vertical, for any band and has more gain than a center or base loaded vertical.  Top loaded is the way to go and I can put 4 bands on that vertical at once attached to a tri-pod for field days or add in 60,30,17 or 12 meters separately.   When it is windy on occasion I get out my 8 foot delta kite and attach a 20 meter dipole to it along with RG-174.  It goes to 200 feet in a minute or two and is very effective for the DX. I just use streamers to keep the bottom part of the dipole away from the very light coax which can take up to 500 watts.  I only do 100 watts and it would be excellent for the POTA / SOTA people...An 8 foot Delta kite is very light as well as the coax & dipole and of course utilizes a string winder.  For 160, 75 or 40 I also use ISOTRON antennas in the garden as you say.  The 75 meter home brew one is only about 2.5 feet x 1.5 feet and takes a full KW easily.  Garden space is not a problem when using an Isotron hi...  I also modified a 10-30 meter MFJ Mag loop with a 300 amp DC switch and 150pf to allow 40 meters off same 3 foot loop and use it in the vertical orientation.  Tunes with a 9vdc battery.

  Just made my EFHW with 49:1 but use 3+21 turns. The antenna works perfectly in the forest and works on 40 20 15 10 m bands.

  I would say horizontal loop is my favorite multi-band; but, depends on your garden.

  I found that the doublet to be a very efficient antenna. I have had many types of antennas over the years and have had success with <br>most of them.The dipoe/doublet has one advantage most hams over look.<br>What can be done is to use the existing dipole &nbsp;you have and by shorting the feedline and using the tuners &nbsp;single wire output you will have essentially a &quot;vertical &nbsp;T&quot; antenna for the lower bands. I have done this while living in the city when I wanted to get on 160m. The tuner I used at the time was home brew as at that time tunrers were a big luxary for a young ham.<br>Of course you will need a good ground system on the tuner as the antenna is now a vertical.<br>I Have done this over tbe years with good success to work DX on lower bands. To get back to the dipole all that is needed is to reconnect your feed back to the <br>tuner as before. The beauty part of this is you can use your existing 40m dipole and do not need another antenna for lower bands (ie 80/160).<br>I enjoy your videos.<br>73, Steve K0SX

  I do like the half size 5RV but an honourable mention also needs to go to the zs6bkw junior too.<br><br>And with any of these a remote auto ATU at the antenna really helps too

  I&apos;ve built at least a dozen 49:1 transformers in the last several years. I have an 80m EFHW around my wood fence at 5ft height with two 90 degree turns. It looks like an inverted J and runs my Winlink Gateway with contacts all over the US and Caribbean. I&apos;ve also done a lot of testing about the counterpoise issue and for my location, with my soil, a ground rod is the counterpoise with chokes on &nbsp;both ends of the coax. SWR&apos;s are under 2:1 except 12m and 17m are over but tunable. It&apos;s worth the testing of various combinations to find what works best for your location. Thanks for the good info Peter.
