  The point of the mother saying teeth is a privilege was to show that she is the reason Andrew was a psycho. The whole extreme punishment thing was what she did to him as a child.

  To be fair to Nina, if she got caught trying to poison him (it's harder than it seems on TV) then her child ends up in foster care. For many people, having small children makes it a lot harder to take the risks necessary to escape abuse

  I also thought they were in it together to get Millie pregnant, steal the baby and kill her. But I’m glad it worked out this way, cos f those abusive psychopaths.

  Him asking her to cut and scar herself over and over again goes against his entire character. That did not happen in the book for good reason. I'm so pissed that they changed it and added that into the movie for dramatic effect. He likes things to be perfect. Her covering herself in scars would make her imperfect in his eyes.
