Magnificent images and in all simplicity. Bravo. I made (almost) the same trip on the Yangsee in..... 1985 and I also made a film in 8mm. My God, that things have changed in 40 years. China modernized at high speed while preserving its cultural heritage to the best of its ability. It is absolutely astounding. Thank you for these memories and this journey into the future.

So mesmerizing in this short video with so much to take it. Takes year or even a lifetime to explore these never-ending wonders in China. The Chinese are truly remarkable people making the best out of nature. The other great Yellow River too had many histories too. Chinese civilization, long and continual is truly the greatest of all time.

I resided near the Mekong river (Chiang Rai, Thaiand) for 20 yrs until 2019, so am familiar with some aspects of Asian river life. &nbsp; I once made a raft out of 1 liter plastic bottles (and two bamboo poles), and floated solo, 60 km down the Kok River, west to east, in northern Thailand.

Thank you for sharing 🙂 In 1906 my paternal grandparents travelled from San Francisco to Shanghai, then travelled all the way up to Renshow and Chengdu. &nbsp; They were medical missionaries who started a life in that same area. &nbsp; My father and his 6 siblings were all born in the same area. &nbsp;I have numerous letters and pictures which I treasure of their lives including a trip westward towards towards Tibet (TAR) in 1921; really neat to see my father in a basket with a Chinese coolie beside a chorten. &nbsp;Incredible journeys over the years up and down the Yangtze. &nbsp; Thanks again!
