Apparently the reason lilo believes Pudge controls the weather is that the day her parents died in a car accident she hadn't given Pudge a sandwich that day and therefore she believes that the storm that caused her parents to crash was her fault.

Nani really is a gold tier big sister trying her best when she had to put her own life on hold (did you see all her surfing trophies?) and step up when she was only 19.

Lilo says "i like him" after the women said he got ran over by a car probably because that means he's immune to the kind of accident that killed her parents, i never put that together when i was a kid lol

It’s very sad Lilo believes it’s her fault her Parents are dead for not feeding Pudge.

Apparently the voice of Stitch is the film’s director Chris Sanders who happens to be the same director for How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods and The Wild Robot for DreamWorks Animation, and also both Chris and Dean DeBlois revealed that the film utilizes watercolor backgrounds which is a first for an Disney animated film in 60 years at the time of its release, which made the scenes more relaxing, soft, and more remanicent of storybook, not to mention Snow White, Dumbo and Bambi were the main influences for the watercolor backgrounds.

As someone whose mom died and her older sister had to take care of her….when this movie came out we bonded over it and watched it all the time. Now her daughter is also in love with Lilo & Stitch. Every time I watch this movie I cry because my relationship with my sister isn’t the best after I was no contact for a year. But I agreed to finally rebuild that relationship and proposed going to see the new movie with my sister and her daughter. Baby steps toward rebuilding the relationship.

I really love the message in this movie that a family isn't just something formed by blood; it's also the people you invite into it and love as family. Friends, pets -you can choose to claim anyone as your family. That's something that meant a lot to me as a kid, and it's something I still appreciate today.

I really like Cobra Bubbles in this movie.
Too often child protective services are portrayed as heartless monsters who want to separate children from families. But that's not their job. Their job is to protect children from abusive and neglectful families.
Bubbles give Nani the benefit of the doubt every chance he gets.
And we get to see him do so.

What a great movie that promotes such wholesome values. It would be crazy if they remade it with the message that you should abandon your family in favor of YOUR dreams
