I don’t think we should assume that without partition there would have been peace

Dehumanization between different cultural and religious identifies in the subcontinent is a purely post colonial phenomenon. In fact , there are very little instances in history for such clashes to exist on the basis of religion like there are now.

There are around 200 million Muslims living in India today and around 5 million Hindus in Pakistan
The problem with all of this is not the British , it is the religions and the mistreatment of one by the other and vice versa

Majority of delhi's muslim population stayed back in India, after partation in 1947. Today, Old Delhi is 70 percent muslim majority. Areas in old delhi like matia mahal, Chitli Qabar bazar, Ballimaran, Hauz Qazi, Lal quan bazar, churiwalan, Bara hindu rao, Qasabpura, daryaganj etc, are all 95 percent muslim majority. Overall, urdu speaking muslims are 70 percent of old delhi's population in 2011 cencus. I agree that many muslims migrated to Pakistan, but they were less in number. Majority of Delhi's muslim population actually stayed back in India post-partation in 1947. Infact, a large population of muslims from karol bagh and sabzi mandi shifted to old delhi, and settled down in areas like bara hindu rao, Matia mahal, daryaganj and qasabpura after riots in 1947. And many muslims also returned back from Pakistan and resettled in old delhi post partation. Very less number of muslims from delhi actually migrated to Pakistan.

Very interesting and thank you for this. My mother was born in Calcutta in 46, daughter of a welch regiment officer - though always growing up I was told that their (shortly after ) return to the uk was because of ‘partition’, but never understood much what that actually meant. So thank you again for the detailed video

This video will be show in India since you guys didn’t show the division of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh..partition of India was really partition of Punjab and Bengal..and war divided JKL as well.. giving Uttar Pradesh enormous power and influence in the Union
