A tip from this Native American about preserving your weed barrier against foot traffic. Get a nice pair of leather moccasins. The plastic soles of tennis shoes is hard on the weed barrier where the leather moccasins are not.

REALLY APPRECIATE videos like this. When you look on some place like Amazon you get overwhelmed by 10,000 different "brands" of the same cheap Chinese scam crap and have put in hours of searching and research to find the one or two that "might" be of decent quality. THANK YOU!!

If you peed in your pants and it got wet on the side and not the middle, we are not built the same 😂

You are such a gold mine of valuable information! Thank you so much for covering this topic! I don’t buy anything anymore unless I check with you first! That’s the truth! ❤ Btw, thanks to you, I installed weed fabric over my entire backyard and absolutely love it!

I use Dewitt Landscapping fabric, absolutely the best! I live in a windy area on a lake, but the wind generally comes in the same way. I just over lapped it so the wind doesn't catch. Also the rusty crusty pins hold the fabric in ground way batter than the new pins. To me the rusty pins are gold! We use a cigar torch to cut our fabric, this way we can control the burn much easier. Also FYI we use old pieces for the bottoms of pots

100% agree. I’ve had my back yard done for 8+ years and no weeds and fabric is still okay. I’ve tried to tell people weed fabrics are not equal and if it comes from a big box store it’s junk. If you find a good fabric it will work, I have bind weed and it even stops that. You can roll under the long ends as well and it gives a double layer edge for staples and weeds and easier and tighter fitting than cutting. Most people that advise against weed fabric is cause they used the cheap stuff and had a disaster. Great advise.

If you have a larger area to cover you can use a product called stabilization fabric. It is used in the construction industry to put down on the ground before rocking a temporary road bed. It is designed to keep the rock from being push down into the dirt as traffic crosses it. It is the same thing as weed barrier they are both a geotextile fabric. The product I use is called Mirifi 500X it is 12'-6" x 432' or 600 square yards it is a 5oz fabric it is extremely UV resistant. You can find it at a construction supply company that specializes in Concrete or Excavating in my area a roll is about $600 the downfall to it is that you need a large area to put it down. I never cut it with a knife or scissors I always use a plumbers torch to cut it. When you do that both the piece you cut plus the cut edge remaining on the roll are singed at the same time. Hopefully this helps someone.
