  Love that FNAF 4-6 managed to change Mark’s mind after he said the series should end with 3. Scott clearly wasn’t satisfied with the initial reception and really outdid himself with changing the formula up with each new installment. It retained the magic that way. It’s the kind of intuition someone with 20 years of game dev experience should have. FNAF’s evolution was something Mark definitely preferred, opposed to re-hashing the same style of gameplay loop. I’m not even a huge fan of SL or Pizzeria Sim, but I have to respect the consistency in bringing new ideas to the table while fleshing out a proper ending to the story. (Even though the post-Scott games kinda uprooted things). The original 6 game series really was a lightning-in-a-bottle moment that set the bar for good mascot horror.

  Seeing Mark just sit and reflect on his old experiences with FNAF while staring at the SOTM factory with the wind howling in the background -- it felt a bit sad. Like it had the same feeling as going to visit your old school or home, walking around and noticing all the places where you made memories and had fun, but understanding that it&apos;s just not the same place anymore. That&apos;s not necessarily bad, it&apos;s different. But that childhood magic is just gone.

  I love that even today Mark has said he’s fond of Sister Location and Pizza Sim. They’re my top two favorite games in the franchise and lately I feel like they’ve been a point of contention in the fan base, so it’s always nice to see someone speak positively about them

  I wanna point out Mark’s review of sister location to show that it’s not JUST nostalgia that causes us to not like the newer games. Sister Location did something new, but it still had the atmosphere. It added to the story. <br>The reason it’s MY favorite game is because sometimes it feels punishing to try and figure out the story, but sister location is so story based that you’re REWARDED for doing so.<br>The newer games are story based, but they very much punish you for trying to figure out the story.

  Markiplier’s review on SOTM felt very emotional 😭. Like I genuinely felt I was gonna sob, because that feeling of being a kid again is just YEARNING to be there. I never ACTUALLY realized how much I actually miss being a huge fnaf kid. Like I’ve always wanted that feeling to happen again, but I realized that I REALLY want to experience it again. I hope someone can relate to what im saying but yeah 💔

  it might just be nostalgia, that lens that make us see the past with affection, when maybe nowadays isn&apos;t a big deal, but back then it was awesome and that&apos;s why it IS awesome. Fnaf was a big innovation, each one better than the last in most aspects and yet never lose that immersion that made fnaf so unique, that thing that was Fnaf itself. Like Mark said, it wasn&apos;t bad at all, none of these new fnaf are bad at all, it&apos;s just a different recipe. It&apos;s hard to describe.
