  Pete, I know you are safe, at home on the island now but it is great to see this piece of your Scotland adventure.  Wow, you learned a lot about sheep, about your own Landy maintenance and off-roading on the Defender Experience.  Thanks for sharing this great experience.  I look forward to the next leg !!!

  Good tp see you having fun learning about your vehicle (and about farming). &nbsp;Re your comments about hi-lift jacks, I have one, currently for my old 1996 Toyota Prado set up for tough touring and 4WDing. &nbsp;I think they can be an amazingly valuable tool IF you have the vehicle set up to use them. &nbsp;The main thing I have learnt from both my mistakes and others&apos; is that they are only safe if you re jacking from a point on the side. &nbsp;I have solid pipe rock sliders bolted to the main chassis members, with two pieces of flat bar welded on near each end of &nbsp;each rock slider to give me a non-slip mounting point on each corner. &nbsp;This lets me jack any wheel off the ground, with to change the the or as part of packing under the wheel for a recovery. &nbsp;With 3 wheels still on the ground and chocked, the vehicle is adequately stable. &nbsp;I have seen several people jack from the front or rear bar to change a tire and then push the vehicle off the jack when trying to get the replacement tyre over the wheel nuts. &nbsp;In one case the vehicle tipped into a tree causing panel damage, in the others it was just scary and embarrassing. &nbsp;I have also used mine once to pull the car sideways away from a tree while (using the side step as an anchor) while using the front winch to pull it forward out of an interesting mess caused by very slippery surface mud getting out of a picnic area. &nbsp;Happy exploring
