  I was always a Bears fan and saw Payton twice, in 81 and 85. DO not discount Matt Suey for being a Huge part of Walter's success. I was a kid watching Sayers and Butkus. I always really, really liked Brian Piccolo. Never made it all the way through "Brian's Song". Reminds me too much of watching "Love Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry" from that era.

  I grew up idolizing Payton. I had a hologram upper deck card for Neal Anderson that was my prized possession when i was like 8-10 years old.

  I have seen a video where Gary Fencik says that, in practices, Walter Payton threw more passes than any of the quarterbacks.

  I kind of forget about Red. But never forget Willie or Bronk or Feathers. Red changed the game and the NFL and is such an underrated phenomena as time passes by. You read old articles about him and he really was larger than life.
