  It’s telling. For great defenses, you can usually name 3, maybe 4, players on the starting lineup and say, “They made that team great.” For the 1985 Bears, fans who were around can spit out every name and jersey number, give you their nicknames and toss down 2 or 3 great plays they had that season. Unbelievably dominant is just what they were.

  I don't know how many of you were alive when they played, but these tribute videos don't do them justice. I'm 61 years old and saw every single game. The Bears started out slow that season. Then they just went all out crazy. The only bump was the game against the Dolphins when Buddy Ryan was too stubborn to change the game plan. Dan Marino threw little quick outs in the vacated areas that were left open from blitzing linebackers. The '85 Bears also had a good offense with McMahon and Payton. For some reason,though , Payton had fumble fingers that year. Bears were so good though,that they didn't get bothered by it. That defense would get destroyed now. Athletes are so much bigger, stronger,and faster. It was a total joy for 19 weeks that year. The years after we're good, but nothing like the 1985 Chicago Bears 🐻 !!!! 🐻 👇
