As a jewler I struggle to use your gemstones when making jewelery. I will find a stone that speaks to me, plan a project around it, order it, and then fall in love with it so much im incapable of covering any part of it in a setting. I now have a small collection that sit on a shelf waiting for a project worthy of their use. I have yet to come up with a "canvas" that I feel is worthy. You truly make art and I love it, or perhaps i just have a unhealthy obsession with crystals. Also super jealous of your own collection.

You know it's gonna be a good video when 30 seconds in the dude just rocks up to StyroPyro's house to borrow a laser xD

This was really excellent work, and a process I've never seen before in that evaporative flux method. Brilliant! I'll need to remember that for other purposes.

Somehow I think this collab with styropyro is going to involve exotic thermites in addition to lasers...

The jewelry business let out a sigh of relief when you gave up and bought the platinum crucible. Imagine if there were a cheaper material that could crank out jewelry quality garage rubies 😆

"Outside of a dedicated lab they tend to be dangerous, complicated, and really expensive." So I look forward to seeing how they work in your StyroPyro collab!

Y'all were my favorite booth at OpenSauce. I bought a small rough AGG for my magnet collection and a gemstone friend is attempting to cut it into a custom shape for me for experiments.<br>Side note - I spent several months (and 3 microwaves) trying to make homemade rubies for my now wife's engagement ring. It's nice to see it can be done!
