I took my family camping and stayed in a tent a couple years ago. To our surprise the temperature dropped significantly that night and we did not have the right blankets or clothing for the cold. <br>I took a medium sized rock that I had found and set it in the fire until we went to bed. Then I put it in a pot and brought it in the tent. It worked well enough to warm up the inside of the tent and keep everyone warm enough to fall asleep and stay warm through the night.
