Maybe they should give him the death penalty

I love your intro music- literally the best I’ve heard.
Also…after a mom has a baby, everyone then focuses on the baby. Everyone is so excited about the baby- bringing presents, etc. when mom might be silently suffering.

Thank you, Eric! You are absolutely correct.. i struggled with postpartum with both my kids, and it was awful. Hormone imbalances after having a baby is no joke, and i felt completely alone and i did not understand why i was in so much distress. Its hard having babies, we love them and our bodies go through so much ..thank you for caring about what moms go through, and utah being such a mormon state most men brush it off in this state so i am so glad that you care about women and motherhood! My girls are now 29 and 14. I am so blessed but having kids is hard for some women.

Kohberger can’t stand being out of the spotlight. He’s having a tantrum because prison isn’t the Waldorf.

What an amazing family and the organization is so needed and great tribute to their daughter. The Emily Effect also is another badly needed in this time. We prioritize physical health, but our mental health is just as crucial to prioritize and unfortunately we still have a pick yourself up by the boot straps and get on with it, turning a blind eye to what you know is not normal, to live in denial and gaslight the one suffering- just hoping for the best but ignoring the signs for your own self (playing ignorant af rather than stepping up and helping the one you care for, despite how little you know of mental health issues or knowing how to navigate yourself in dealing with getting the resources needed) while the one in dire straits is in survival mode and in a downward spiral. If you can’t figure it out mentally well, how do you expect them to navigate it unwell? Baby Blues should never be said again, minimizing mental health deteriorating, devaluing the importance of not just mental health issues, but the one with them. Women as is are under hella pressure and standards as moms. Moms always hear, oh that’s totally normal when it is not or are looked at like they have 3 heads when they tell you what they are experiencing or how they aren’t feeling the joy they know they typically should, the guilt of not being grateful speech Moms always get from others, or the list of critiques said to them when they’re already saying the worst to themselves. We gaslight these moms like Emily and that’s family, friends, coworkers, medical drs and even therapists to their patient who is telling them flat out they need help. This is when family, friends, need to really get involved and help these moms get the proper and right therapist, doctors for their needs. Mental health cause a decline in judgment, motivation, the ability to navigate simple things. This is where loved ones, coworkers, everyone need to rally around the mom and help in every way they can without making Mom feel inadequate or being overbearing like they tend to do. The idea is to selflessly help and raise her back up, get her healthy, not make her feel less than she already is feeling. Food trains, child care help, picking up their laundry to do for them, cooking meals for them ahead so they can just throw it in the oven to reheat, helping with lawncare, housework without making it a big deal like mother in laws tend to do, communication while being more of an ear than a talker, not gaslighting Mom, not downplaying or making her feel awkward sharing with you the struggles she is going through, including episodes of psychosis, not feeling like she wants to run to the school and sign up as a PTA mom, not judging for her not having the energy to bring the kids to the park, swimming, etc you may do with your kids. Mothers can be the most judgemental and nasty to moms overwhelmed when we all should be lifting that mom struggling and helping in any way we can, so she can get to the point of enjoying motherhood and family life again. And not ever throwing it back in her face!!! Not acting like you are a professional therapist or dr, giving your opinions or advice. Just help and don’t make things worse or not worth accepting help from others. You all know what I mean cause you’ve done it, experienced it, or seen it being done to someone and wish that person would just shut up, help or piss off- cause they were making bad situations worse. It’s not a choice to have your brain and therefore body not working as you wish it would, and that’s how a lot of people perceive mental health issues. The boot strap ignorance. You can hurt that person more with that type of thinking than helping, and words are powerful things we never give enough thought to before we say them. Help or leave those struggling, feeling overwhelmed alone. Do not be the one to make it worse and cause such stress and anguish where they feel they only can resort to what Emily did.

I really love the fact that as an interviewer you are really patient in asking questions and allowing the story to unfold. Great technique. Fantastic postpartum discussion.

I like what Robb Wood said.. “its very defendant centric anti-victim justice system”.

I won't address the murderer as he just wants the attention.

This husband is amazing. The literal definition of using tragedy for something good. He is saving lives. All the best to you, sir.
