  Finally someone talking about other harem rankings other then during the Qing dynasty! Always loved the Tang and was intrested in it&apos;s harem. It started with me as a kid seeing the drama Empress of China and it also started my obsession with Chinese history and culture. I always wondered about the harems before the Qing since they had a ton if ranks so I often wondered how it all worked. Also was fascinated with the fact that it says Yuan only had 3 ranks? How the hell did that work! There must have been atleast some unspoked or very spoken hierarchy among the consorts even tho they had the same rank. Also was fascinated that it was always said that emperors had like crazy amounts of women. Like &quot;Emperor <i>___</i> had (number from 100 to multiple thousand) women&quot; Like that&apos;s crazy! Anyways long comment but thank you so much you&apos;re one of my favorite Chinese history youtubers and one of my favoritre history creators! Thank you!

  I am so glad that you clarified about the numbers of women in the harem. I had read people saying that there were thousands of women, but it never made sense to me. Now it is much clearer.

  I&apos;ve always wondered why some shows would &nbsp;have specific names for the 4 consorts! This explains so much and I love the reference to the Empress of China show! Thank you!

  The editing has really improved! &nbsp;I do like that even though there is a larger harem that the concubines do have more of an administrative role. I do wonder how they influenced their revenue households to their advantage, though.
