  Fun Fact: Seventeen amendments were proposed to the Constitution yet only twelve made it to the final draft of the Bill of Rights. Of these twelve, only the first two were rejected. One of these, which stated that Senators and Representatives cannot increase their salaries during their present term of office, would later be adopted as the Twenty-seventh Amendment in 1992.

  Good thing we got that Bill of Rights. &nbsp;The federal government operates far outside its constitutional bounds. &nbsp;&quot;No action was taken and no one was held accountable&quot;. &nbsp; Seems like that tradition has been handed down for sure.

  No, George Washington was not the one who introduced or promoted using &quot;Mr President&quot;. <br>It was actually others who advocated for that, and essentially Mr President was chosen as a compromise between those like John Adams who wanted &apos;your excellency&quot; or &quot;your majesty&quot;, and those like Thomas Jefferson who wanted something informal and friendly.

  My family left Maryland and migrated to the Indiana Territory in the early 1800s. They had lived in Maryland since the 1680s. That was a big “Pioneer” decision.
