Kids don't need more chemicals. They need to put down the phone and touch grass

How did the parents not do anything to prevent a 360lb 14 year old? If healthy meals are being prepared and physical activities are encouraged, I believe it is less likely to contribute to obesity. Also limiting video & TV is helpful. Blaming others is not the solution.

These meds mess with your gut. I don't think people understand that the gut plays such an important role in our health. The microbes in our guts control our immune system, metabolism, and mood regulation which explains all of these side effects that these people are talking about. Let's not forget to mention the inflammation which is a breeding ground for the disease process.

I had no idea they were prescribing these drugs to kids! I have a 12 year old and he is growing rapidly all the time. He grew nearly 3 inches this summer! I know every child is different, but to severely restrict calories in kids seems like it would also restrict their growth and development. I am nervous already at the lack of studies with this type of drug long-term, especially when people are taking these drugs for cosmetic reasons only (not diabetes). It would need to be a very severe situation before I would put my child on something like this. I would literally try everything else before going the glp-1 route. I'm not saying it can't benefit some children, but it can definitely enable an eating disorder and as someone who is a survivor of anorexia as a 15 year old, this makes me very uncomfortable. So I truly hope any parent putting their child on this medication is doing so after trying other avenues for weight loss because I would hate to see kids having bad side effects later. It makes me sad anybody is having negative side effects, honestly.

As much as some of these people do upset Me, I also don't really blame humanity for the state of things, I wish for them to wake up now

The best solution is still to address insulin resistance, visceral body fat,to teach people how to regulate their circadian rhythm and how to stabilise blood sugar bc that’s the driving force of food noise besides the mental/emotional aspects. Also start building up your muscle mass. I am saying this as someone who’s always struggled with serious overweight. It’s definitely not the easy way out but the thing is you need to make these lifestyle changes anyway or neither the injection nor the sleeve or bypass will work longtime.

That's insane! And the video barely began!

ETA: that mom earned the shame and embarrassment she feels for allowing her 14yo son to weigh 360 pounds! That's one pound a day for a year! What did YOU allow in your home for him to be able to consume such calories? As far as the son, buddy that shit ain't ok! Maybe you have some physical limitations and mental health obstacles but you have internet aunties that want you to succeed! I myself entered a nutrition & fitness challenge for September, so please don't feel alone!

These parents that have bigger kids are 💯 to blame!! Lazy parents not wanting to put the effort to find the triggers or their kids eating habits. Kids don’t just eat for the hell of it. There is always a contributing factor: a large portion, forced to finish food, rewarding with food, SA, troubled home, poor family diet, fat parents, so on. I have a child that has always been a bigger kid since he was born 9lbs 12oz and he is what we call a tank. I’m well aware that he can easily balloon up. So he’s not allowed to eat late non of us are, and everyone’s sugar / snacking is monitored . Movement is a must and never reward with food. We don’t sit and eat just because. You’re bored? Then go play outside never just sit and eat. It’s a lot of work as a parent to monitor my own health. I always ask my parents why they allowed me to eat 2 meals at BK I was a child and should have been stopped. Instead I’ve had food problems my entire life because I connect food with family and comfort. Anyway GLP1 shouldn’t be used and parents should set the example and expectations early on. Move move move and eat a well rounded meal. Stop the force feeding and snacking.
