  Kyokushin is such a beautiful art in a way thats different to other arts. Its the only style ive ever seen where discipline is actually a visable trait in their strikes, every style has their own thing but thats what i see when i see their practionioners

  Kevin, its absolutely right that you gonna damage your knee ligaments if your body does not get properly prepared. Karate uses special exercises to prevent this. Check out some of the exercises in Karate Lesson by Fumio Demura 1986

  The sparring exhange at the end is SO high level it&apos;s crazy. Extremely playful and restrained and yet I had to watch multiple times just to process everything that happened. One thing that stands out is although both fighters were being very respectful bordering on hesitant, Kevin spends the entire round trying to close the distance and yet Yuna is the only one who did any actual infighting; i.e. landing any punches to the body. It&apos;s ironic that, while she is so adamant about managing distance and keeping him at range with her kicks, she often crosses the void and punishes him while he&apos;s retreating. For his part, Kevin showed great self-awareness and reflexes by stopping himself when he instinctually moves to catch kicks multiple times over the course of the bout, as well as his savate chops clearly on display once he feels comfortable improvising a little more.

  The speed and flexibility of the kicks looks on par with savate, maybe even a bit faster considering those whip-like kicks. Now I look at karate differently, thanks
